Thanks all, I've now ordered some from ECP! Their kit also contains springs which I need.. Mine are a bit rusty...

Going to crack on with the job in a bit whilst the weather is on my side...

All MOT work on Gabriel is now done and as I type this she's up at the MOT place being done...

She now has new discs and pads at the rear and new pads and flexis at the front but she's just failed the MOT on the exhaust centre section.

I'm not doing that job myself so the garage has been tasked to do it..

The work I did today went really well, no big problems at all :D

It's not bad at all Dave...

I see where the centre section has gone.. It's collapsing with rust all around the bell-end...

It could not be seen until the clamp and the old back-box stub was removed...

A new exhaust will be one less thing to give trouble later on ;)

I see I have some instrument panel lights out  That annoys me so very soon I'll be ordering in a fistful of bulbs and getting that job done. At least with Gabriel being an S2 I can get the instruments out without having to remove the steering wheel.

Going to try re-training the PLIPs and keys on the Lexia later and see if I can make the PLIPS work again...

On my Xm the system was fritzed so I bought an RF locking kit from eBay. Took a few days to wire in but worked great.

That's not a bad idea Dave. Especially on an XM which I believe uses it's very own system and is a bit impenetrable and not easy to fix if it packs up...

Earlier today I had a look at my PLIPS and found one has no RF output - checked on my spectrum analyser and nothing, not a sausage. It's not the battery at fault...

The other one has broken buttons but has a good RF output on 432MHz but it has broken push-switches...

I then dusted off my Lexia and retrained my keys and the one PLIP that radiates and it trained up fine and works. It can't be used due to the broken push-switches...

I did look at swapping switches but that's well beyond my soldering/electronic skills - I can work on valved equipment but this mini stuff is well beyond me. I neither have the tools or the eyesight...

So, has anyone any good S2 PLIPS for sale or has anyone any experience of soldering in new push-switches to an otherwise good one?

Or can anyone offer a repair service?

I actually bought a couple of those switches with good intentions and gave up immediately I opened the packet![emoji23] Defeatism at its worst!
Jim I have a friend who is very good at micro soldering. He recently repaired a lose USB charging port on a phone I was repairing. I can ask if you like. I could only just see the USB port never mind the soldered connections. [emoji16]

No, we know our limits ;) It looks to me like an SMD rework station would be needed to do it properly...

Dave, if you could that would be most appreciated :) Many thanks indeed!

I could give it a shot Jim. Steady hand and good eyesight should help. Got a tiny tip for the iron too somewhere.
