The story of Davie's clutch replacement is now being told in this thread: http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/v ... 4&p=482326

Lots of pictures and I'm sure it'll end up a good guide to Activa clutch replacement by the end...

I can now reveal the main reason why the Activa V6 conversion was cancelled, having spoken to all affected parties...

I'm going into semi-retirement in August and as a result money is going to be very tight and there will be no spare for such activities...

I'm resigned to now only being able to afford one toy car (the Activa) and keeping hold of the C1 for many years to come whilst using both the least I can. Which of course means much more walking and cycling!

The main reason for the decision is my health. I'm a great believer in the mantra of 'Health before Wealth' and indeed this is what I'm putting into practice...

To earn a little pocket money I may, at some point, offer some specialist services for Activa owners. These might include ram repairs, electrovalve repairs and the like...

No promises, we'll have to see how things pan out.. I may even be tempted to do the odd HP20 overhaul...

Excellent news Jim! I'm pleased to hear you're almost escaping from the rat-race. I'm sure it's the best decision.

That's good. I'm better working part time, but I'm the opposite money wise after 3 years off work. I'm sure that will be the correct decision for you.

I know that my second Activa needs its rams and electrovalves sorted. The rear is rock hard (spheres?) Put me on your list ..... just need to get them removed at some time and this car is not first in the queue for attention.

A good afternoon of spannering toady :D

The HP20 gearbox is all now rebuilt without a hitch and is all ready to reinstall in its car...

It just needs filling with ATF and a new Torque Converter neck seal fitting...

I'm very happy to see this:

It means I now have a clear workshop and I can crack on with Davie's Activa, weather permitting... Hopefully it'll allow me to get a little bit done tomorrow...

It's been an excellent Easter :-D

Just when you can Jim. No need to push it if it's poor weather or your not feeling great.

Don't worry Davie, if there's even the slightest reason not to I won't... I'm actually taking it nice and easy... And thoroughly enjoying myself :D

Nothing done on Davie's Activa today as girls with me for a good bit and we enjoyed an excellent lunch :D

Zel popped round in the afternoon and we swapped all his corner spheres. Ride is, I believe, a bit softer now...

Taking advantage of the lovely weather I gave my C1 a long-overdue oil and filter change... The car has done just over 5K in nearly two years and was due an oil change on a time-served basis..

This was its second oil change... It gets one per year...

A very easy job in the C1. Takes longer to clean up the oil drain pan than it does the actual job!
