I have a long way to go before I'm him Mark... He's a Shihan (literally master) and there are very few of those... You will see our grading chief examiner is a Shihan and he is as close to god as it gets....

Thanks Dean! Indeed, I didn't ever think I'd get this far to be honest...

I get between about 55 and 65 out of the C1 depending if I'm running around town or on a run... These days it sees hardly any use bar work as if I can walk or bike to a destination and don't have too much to carry I will... The only other job it does bar work is as a shopping trolley once a week... The bike is highly economical - it runs on flapjacks and fruitcake....

Get close to my Activa and the patina of time shows. I'm thinking after the V6 conversion is done and the piggy bank is again fat enough I'll have the cosmetics nicely sorted...

That is just about the biggest crime it is possible to commit in the martial arts world! If I tried that I think I'd most likely be hung with it....

From a lamp post....

On the grand scheme of things it falls somewhere between murder and treason!

I learned an interesting fact yesterday.. When you are awarded a new belt you must not take off the old and put the new on... The new one must go on top of the old one and the, and only then, can the old belt be removed...

Possibly a spiritual thing. The current belt has seen you through to this stage, and by putting the new belt on over the top of the current (old) belt the spiritual essence is transferred across (although I bet there is a better way of explaining it) into the new one.

James, that makes a lot of sense and I think explains it perfectly..

Your belt, like you gi, becomes very special... Black belts only get one belt and over the years they fade and wear to nearly white...

I fixed my leaky rear ram today...

This was how leaky it was :twisted:

Image

Full story is in my V6 Conversion Blog here:

http://www.activav6.co.uk/2015/03/fixin ... y-ream-ram" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Whilst I was there I also pressure tested the rear spheres as access was easy...

I will soon need a new Activa Balancing Sphere and Rear Centre Hydractive as both are a bit low but that's not bad as both are about seven years old..

They came off nice and easily...

Yes :-D Not the first time I've done it Mike... First time was on Chris (Citroenmad's) Activa at the CXM Rally a few years ago in the middle of the field but I must admit some parts I'd done earlier at home in my workshop...
