Yes, I must admit the boot is not the best feature of a C1 Mike....

Re: Citrojim's Xantia V6, C1 and Activa Tales
I was looking to see if I can afford the payments on one. I know they are not the most comfortable for me, but shaun's sportium 107 is better than my urban lite 107 was so I think the higher spec c1 would be ok. The small boot for me would not be a concern, back seat near permanently down and rear and side windows tinted out and have a mini van. I would have no worries running one to big miles, last one did 25000 miles a year with just servicing and tyres. Hadn't even changed brakes at 75000 miles

Re: Citrojim's Xantia V6, C1 and Activa Tales
Having just ran mine to Somerset and back Davie, I find they're more comfortable than they might appear...
Big news today is that I have my V6 Activa project donor.. It is tinged with a little sadness as it's my old original V6 that's come back to me following a poor prognosis of oil leaks from the camboxes and other issues that have conspired to make the car beyond economic repair.
So, this car, although it is now at the end of its life in its current form, will now very much live on as a major ingredient of my V6 Activa....
I shall always have fond memories of this car as it was my first V6 and where I cut my 4HP20 overhaul teeth - in hindsight this was not my best overhaul but it did allow me to learn... As a result the car enjoyed a further very good five years of life
I will start dismantling the car in the not too distant and all parts not required for the conversion or WFA Spares holding will be offered on here...

Two things, how the devil are you, if it is you Jim? And what on earth has happened, I've been away from FCf circles for a while and I come back to find the man who we had to badger to death to get a simple boost controller on his tct is tearing the backside out of it to put a V6 in it, the same man who had to hibernate for a fortnight to recover from being stood in a field for two days is now on the way to being a black belt swimathon assassin!

Yep, that sums it up pretty succinctly Dean

I've learned to take very great care of myself and I appear to be thriving on it...
How are you then Dean? Great to see you

I didn't need to ask but I thought for comedy value I would, catching up with the blog shows your change of lifestyle is working wonders for you and good job too, things got a little miserable for a while so I'm glad to see your feeling much better sir and your enjoying yourself! Genuinely, it good to see/read!
I'm keeping well thank you, not sure the sun shines at home mind you but busy hands something something the thingy. May have to see you this year if I have a certain car on the road I may or may not have driven ( only down the drive) this evening wink wink.

That's excellent news Dean, I'll be very much looking forward to seeing you and said car!
I'm hoping to be at most, if not all, the rallies this year. The only thing that will keep me away from one is if the dates clash with a Karate grading...
Going for my 7th Kyu (yellow belt) in three weeks.... Black belt is still a few years off.... I have an ambition though

Re: Citrojim's Xantia V6, C1 and Activa Tales
Well best of luck with it Jim, I'm sure with your determination it will happen.
Completion of the car won't be for a while yet, I don't want it on the road until April anyway at the earliest as it only going to be one of fairy vehicles that goes outside when its +22oC and -50% humidity....................so never in this country, it will however arrive under its own power, she's no trailer dolly.
I see your loving small car motoring, excellent buzzing around in such a cheap to run vehicle isn't it

And why not, I take it you have had the "its not a REAL Citroen" (whatever one of those are) moaners pop up
Those engines are so sweet, nice little raspy exhaust note too and not much on the road is cheaper to run, I can see why you love it.

Re: Citrojim's Xantia V6, C1 and Activa Tales
Nothing much achieved on the car front today. Firstly I'm feeing a little below par with a bit of a cold and secondly I've been busy with much domestic work..
I've just cooked a fish bake and an apple crumble... Later I shall make a batch of custard. Robyn will be round for tea.
I did however bolster security on my workshop... In the recent past we've had a few instances of garages being broken into and I've been in the habit of running a car tight up against the doors in a bid to thwart any such attack. That's now impractical with a car about to be dismantled so something had to be done and hopefully it has been...
I'm trusting Mr. T. Leaf will take one look and decide it's just not worth the aggro and move on to an easier target...
I see the donor is quite incontinent.. There's a fair patch of oil under it now and a very small patch of LHM... Those camboxes are bad...
Although I'm sad that Old V6 is finally coming to the end of this stage of its life I'm delighted to note that in the ownership of PavlosV6 it did nigh-on 30K with very little grief... It's now done nearly 206K and and almost 40K since the gearbox rebuild...
I'm happy I truly gave it a new lease of life... The car was heading for the scrap yard when I got hold of it originally, having a dead gearbox and many other issues...
It seems somehow fitting it'll now form a large part of my next project...
So long Old V6 and thanks for all the new skills you taught me
And no doubt new ones I'll learn during the course of the Activa project!!!

I have seen a spoof T shirt, that takes the mickey out of an American theme. The T shirt read "Apple Crumble and Fish".
