What you need is one of those tape things that can plug into your phone and charge it up and just do David's method of phono input :)

boasting about being able to say "It's going to rain" is neither big or clever.

BBC Weather Forecasters seem to think it is. They say it often enough!

It's like boasting that you can tell an XM owner that someday his car will let him down in some catastrophic way

Now I know why it was so cheap :-D

The new one I believe has a 1.2 engine with emissions below 99 whatsits so therefore VED free.

He already has a red Citroen (the Activa), a blue one (the V6), but he is getting rid of a silver one (the XM), so I would guess that he likes those colours and wants to keep continuity.

Nope, sorry to blow your lovely assessment of my colour choices apart James. It was what was available at the price :) Makes a change from a red one anyway..

Just having breakfast and then I'm off to replace an Activa wheel bearing. Sod the weather  I want to drive my Activa!

I cannot for the life of me imagine Jim buying a car because of its colour, even a brand new one unless he asked "What's the cheapest colour? "

I know Jim's not a tight-arse but I imagine what colour of C1 he ended up with probably wasn't particularly high on his list of important features.

Enjoy your day Jim. I enjoyed fixing the DRK yesterday. Gave me some confidence back that I haven't lost all my mechanical abilities! I'll probably finally fit the new fuel pump I have for it today.
