To drag the blog into bakery again... Jim, have you mucked around with pizza bases ever? Trying to make a "dessert pizza" with toffee glaze on lightly cooked fruit segments, and the prefabricated bases are a little doughy in taste.

I've only done normal pizza bases Adam, using normal bread dough..

I think Paul Hollywood or Mary Berry might have the recipe you need Adam..

Yes, it is very strange, supposedly its an advancement in the oil? A likely storey.

Its not so much the oil getting black with a petrol engine which worries me, its the mixture of fuel within the oil and so less lubrication and more acid.

Off French car topic for a mo ... I find it strange how the Audi A2 1.4TDi is supposed to go for 30K between services (yes, 30K!) and my VW with the same engine and same oil recommendation is to go for 10-12k. Hmm ...

Obviously, the longer the service interval the lower the costs to the owner ... or so they have us believe.

Those audi units are going to be shafted as they get older!

I always change the oil in the Berlingo before the 12k limit. How much before depends on my mood! Went the full 12k last year, but it's had one after 4500 and another another 3500 down the line so 3 in the last 9 months. Won't be done until March or so now though.

Maybe they'll never get old. Perhaps they're truly disposable or the hard suspension and general aggression of the hideous thing will have killed the owner before 30K has been covered and therefore rendering any kind of service, except a funeral one, completely unnecessary.

Ohh, Nigella doing crumpets... It's too early in the morning for the thoughts I'm having right now :P

Took the battery off the Activa this afternoon in preparation for her winter lay-up. battery will be trickled at regular intervals during the winter..

It was such a lovely afternoon I got a bit of tidying up done in the garden...

And gave the other two cars a quick check-over as this weekend is going to be busy. Down to see Dad on Saturday and then on Sunday off to the Classic car Show at the NEC...

The XM is going to be busy too...
