Here's the first pictures of the new XM. I apologise they're not good but I'll try tomorrow to get some better ones...

I've had a very good look over her and found a few other small issues. Nothing major...

Cruise control not working. Common problem. Fix most likely known and easy....

Starter is occasionally intermittent. Common and known ES9 problem. Fix may involver installing a starter 'helper' relay.

Climate not working correctly. Blower stuck on half speed and uncontrollable. It's not the regulator but the signal to it. Lexia reports a fan control fault. Only looked briefly.

Tailgate central locking not working and lock barrel seized.

Gearbox display flashing. Lexia unable to access gearbox ECU and yet it works perfectly :?

The bulb behind the climate display blew this afternoon...

So there we go... A few jobs to keep me amused...

Not bad really...

Ah, its a HKV, a popular reg on XM's quite possibly a Citroen demo/press car when new.

Looks good that does Jim 8-)

I've had a malfunctioning boot lock on an XM too. Often the motor gets weak and can not operate against the think felt on the inside of the boot trim ... I replaced the actuator motor. That car also had a seized boot lock, plenty of freeing agent and working the key did the trick.

Not a bad list of jobs, it'll keep you busy for a short while 8-)

Excellent Jim, looks very smart indeed! 8-)

Those few jobs will keep you busy and afterwards you will have an extremely nice car...

Looking forward to seeing it at a rally or two...

I took the XM for a good run to see dad in Somerset today.. Very happy indeed. The climate works as it should in that it regulates the temperature but just has the static fan speed problem. I'll look into it in due course...

On the way home from Somerset I popped in to see my old friend PavlosV6. He took these pictures...

His are the Picasso and blue Xantia which was my old original S1 V6. The red Xsara belongs to a neighbour...

So the change was worthwhile then Jim Looks like a good car, you seem to have a habit of getting R registrations

Has it got the full leather interior or the part suede?

I wish my camera was as good as the one used to take the Prestiges shots ...

Lovely pics Jim, I really hope you are happy with the new car, it really suits you. Didn't see your email until now or I'd have given you better directions. Doing that now for next time.

The worst thing about reading your posts, and that of others is that I still want an XM or Xantia, despite having the brilliant Subaru! There's just something about them..
