Good work Jim, especially working through the 'ping******' moments which are usually the end of many people's attempts at fiddly jobs. I had a couple myself this morning while trying to get a 17th pair of SWMBO's shoes onto our 18 place shoe rack!! :-D (I only have 2 spaces!!)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

That's how it used to be for me, I managed to 'win' a couple of spaces by leaving my shoes on the floor in front of the couch and when shouted at simply said "I've nowhere else to put them!" :-D (Needless to say it cost me a dinner out for answering back :-D )

17 pairs! Gosh  Just how many pairs of shoes does anyone need? Even counting my two types of running shoes, I only have five or so pairs and one of those are my cycling shoes!

Running shoes that have gone past their best become walking shoes to extend their life a little...

Are you suggesting you only have two pairs Mick?

One pair that I use 99% of the time, had them about 15 years.
A pair of Doc Martens that I have had about twenty years and hardly used, they hurt my feet after about two miles and are lace-ups that I can't be doing with. Seemed a good idea at the time.
An old pair of trainers, lace up but never untied, to potter around outside, left by my son for some reason, I wouldn't have bought them, don't like trainers.
A pair of croc-like things without the silly holes, easy on and off for use in the garden, no fun to walk in though, perhaps because they are a bit too big and loose.

I've a pair of those Steve, perfect for a trip to the bins and the washing line but not much else... Amazingly, I'm aware of people who have run marathons in them  Goodness knows the state of their feet at the end!

They are indeed perfect for hanging out the washing, bin visits and sweeping the patio that's why I bought SWMBO a pair!! :-D

That, I would say, is reasonable and a sensible number and a good way to store them... My regularly ones live on a thin IKEA doormat in the hall and those less often used on a doormat under the stairs...

I do keep one brand-new pair of running shoes in stock, unworn as yet, ready to take over on the retirement and demotion to walking duties of my current running pair...

The previous walking pair will either be thrown away or be further demoted to gardening duties with the current gardening shoes being binned...

Love that Alasdair...

I found the cause of Bluebell's rear washer issues, the switch is unhappy... I've had it in bits but cannot see anything obviously bad... The contacts looked a bit dodgy but cleaning them has not helped...

I'm too tired now so will look at it again in the morning...

Earlier, I replaced the passenger side door card. It's looking good and huge thanks Mick, for doing a great job of refurbishing it :D It looks an order of magnitude better than it did with loose fabric and doing a fair impression of Nora Batty's stockings!

And finally for today, a family photo
