I plant bulbs then forget they are there and dig them up again.

You may find that the peonies will 'sulk' for a year or two after being moved.

That'll be OK Steve, they have been doing good impressions of triffids for the last few years so a bit of retardation will not go amiss...

Ditto with the rhubarb. I still have a freezer full of it :)

Another clean-sheet pass this morning :D This time at the dentist...

My dentist is so pleased with my dental hygiene I no longer have to see the hygienist.... Good news you'd think but not for me :( I love going to see my lovely hygienist and the feel of my teeth after she's worked her magic :)

And, two visits a year are covered by my dental insurance policy so I'm no longer getting all I pay for    I shall demand a refund!

Since my last visit, I find I have a new dentist. Young, full of enthusiasm and of the latest thinking... He takes colour pictures of any teeth he thinks worthy of interest and displays them on a big colour monitor on the wall and explains his findings and thoughts... For once I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and found his interest and enthusiasm quite exhilarating :D

Robyn, Autumn and I have been visiting garden centres today; ostensively in search of soft-play area and good cafes. We took a wrong turning and I ended up sliding a bit further down a slippery slope I've been teetering on the edge of for a few days...

This lot, and a book on the subject somehow ended up in the back of my car
20241023_140156.jpg
The ericaceous compost is to give a convivial home to a blueberry - Autumn's all-time favourite soft fruit... It was not my doing, a little girl made me do it - honest

I'm planning to make fruit growing a bit of a specialist subject. Something new and exciting to get my teeth into. I'll be looking forward to getting my teeth into the end products too 😋😊

As it's been such a lovely day today it would truly have been a opportunity lost not to have taken full advantage...

At least Jim won't need axle stands for the Xantia, clearly the axle stands were hidden in the picture he posted....

That's what I thought Jim, there would be no way someone in your respected position in the community would fail to take the appropriate safety actions. Mick maybe, but not you.

I worked hard yesterday to get all outstanding tasks done so that I could enjoy a recreational trip out on the bike. A kind of rest day for me even though my cycling partner is a good bit younger/stronger than I so I haver to work hard to keep up; my legs were properly toasted at the end

Part of the ride was rubbish. For why see this thread: viewtopic.php?p=818578#p818578  :)

Late yesterday saw my garden progress a bit further with some soft fruit now planted, along with an apple tree. I'm needing to get another apple tree in the same pollination group and plan on a plum and a cherry to complete the collection.

The plant in the container is the blueberry, happily (I hope) planted in ericaceous compost.

The other soft fruit is near the fence with the thought it'll be easy to net it when the fruit is on the way to ripening...

Some flowers have crept in to fill the chimney pot planters:

And a couple of new heathers to replace the old dog roses out front:

It's all a bit of a lottery and a guessing game based on a bit of reading from one who knows little but it'll be fun to see how it goes.

If nothing else, the garden is now very tidy and neat... I like that :D

I wonder if a few gooseberry plants might be a useful addition to the garden (and to your cookery options)?

Got them James... I love gooseberries despite they grow on prickly bushes... I generally dislike prickly plants but when they produce delicious edible fruit I make an exception :)

With you having been the owner of both the "French" Cars in the picture, just look at how small the orange thing from Italy is in comparison to both the C1 and the C3 Picasso!

At the risk of being shot on Tuesday, I'd rather have the small orange thing out of those three all day long!! :-D
