Great pictures, Vince. I too sat up when I saw the R16 - my first solo drive after passing my test was in my dad's 16 back in 1972. I would love to drive one today.

Re: The Citroen "cool picture" thread
Absolutely fantastic.. I too have fond memories of an R16. A TS no less. Dad had an R5 back in the mi 70s. Bought it new in fact and it had a gearbox problem. Garage took it in for rectification, a job that took a few weeks, and lent dad the R16TS. I drove that car many times and loved it to bits, column change and all...ragger wrote:Great pictures, Vince. I ended up with dad's R5 a few years later (he swapped it for a Metro when they'd only been about a few months) so that R5 picture also stirred a few fond memories... Same colour as mine...

Looks as slippery as an eel!
You worked hard there Franklin
Black is a very satisfying colour to polish; it's just a shame it shows every speck of dust and muck

Thanks folks, the Meguiars does bring the paintwork up lovely. Typically, though, it rained today...

Broke an LX TD on an M plate in that colour. Kept the doors. but was worse for wear in the rear end body!CitroJim wrote:So is that colour - it's gorgeous![]()
