It does indeed :-D Shame about the handbrake though... I wonder if the chock comes as standard or has to be bought as an accessory from a Lotus dealer...

I have a really big soft spot for the Esprit styling ever since I started playing 'Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge' on my Amiga back when I was 7/8. Similar to the XM in some ways, maybe thats was attracted me to the XM!

I spent many, many happy hours playing this on the Atari 520ST against my brother. Many, many hours. Oddly, not until I was about 23, when we dragged the 520ST out the cupboard again after years of it being sat there redundant as we had PCs by then!

Where abouts was that Franklin?
Looks a lot like the Hole of Horecombe area not far from Fylingdales BMEWS.

You're not far off Steve. On the way back yesterday evening we came past The Hole of Horcum and thus through the very tight and steep bends here. I video'd some of the great roads around that area so will have to upload at some point.

We were heading back from Scarborough to Goathland (Heartbeart) and there was a layby just before a 25% decline. Just found it there on Google Maps - Link. That's the layby on the left, and heading towards Goathland. ...and while I'm here, here's the C6 outside the "Aidensfield Arms":

Frankiln, thats known as the 'Devil's Elbow' (Saltersgate bank) andis the site of many an accident but if you think that is steep and twisty there is a much worse one near Goathland. Much steeper, tighter bends and a ford at the bottom then an equally steep but straight road out of the valley.
I dropped my motorbike in the ford, slid on waterweed, almost lost it into the deep part (about 6' at the time).
Recovered it, dried the carb out and set off up the hill but it wouldn't carry me, had to run alongside until it warmed up and dried out properly.
A candid camera moment.

It is very picturesque around there though. Haven't been for seven years, must make the effort to go again.

Yep I think I know where you mean Steve as that's the 25% decline signs - and once you come down there is the train station to the right as used in Harry Potter.

Lovely place.

Nope, no railway station or anything else there, just a farm about half a mile after the ford.

Where you are thinking of is Grosmont. My sister in law comes from there.
