I have considered going to France for a V6 manual perhaps even the V6 Activa.. It would be worth going for L/H just for the quantity of choice..deian wrote:Yea, but if i had the V6 i'd keep it, but if i had nothing, i'd choose the bmw, not the 523 tho, but the 525.
Still, i don't know, the xantia v6 is more exclusive (hence the trim name) than the bmw, but the bmw has rwd, oh i don't know.
yes i do, if the bmw was manual then the story changes... shame the xantia v6 wasn't a manual over here!!

Our ZX 1.9TD returns approx 45mpg around the doors, on a motorway run of around 200 miles it will return 56mpg.
The Xsara 1.4 returns approx 35mpg around the doors but this is through rush hour traffic & all the stop starting & sitting in traffic that goes with it.
On the same motorway run of around 200 miles as the ZX it will return 49mpg which I think is really good.

Yes, the 1.4 Xsara gives good economy at motorway speeds.
My C5 HDI is more economical than the previous Xsara round town or when driven enthusiastically. The Xsara is easier to get 50mpg from though.

Currently driving a 2004 C5 VTR (old shape) and an Electric Kia Soul. Sorry but the electric one is my favourite!

My old 1.9TD hatchback managed 57mpg travelling the country lanes from portsmouth to Basingstoke and a bit of motorway driving.
That was 816 miles on a tank.

Foolz I was thinking the same... I really miss my V6... (bizarely it went to Paris!)
A V6 manual driven quite carefully,,,, 35+ mpg?
a cambelt and an LPG conversion...
sorted especially if you can do most of the conversion yourself, I looked into this a lot and know a chap who did his 406 V6.. he was willing to help me.,.
obviously it would neeed LPGA certification..
