Good work on such a cold day :D

Hi All
First and foremost a great big thankyou to Andmcit (Andrew) as without him i would never have had the good fortune to own a VSX,i shall be forever in your debt :)
Secondly a great big thankyou to all on the forum who have provided advice and encouragement when i felt like throwing the towel in
I now have the greatest of pleasure in providing photos before (courtesy of Andmcit) and after of the transformation of what i believe is a cracking example of the Citroen Xantia VSX :D :D

Whilst nowhere near the same league as Vinces VSX or ant one of Gareths i still think she scrubs up well :D :D

Still a few minor jobs to be done but she dont look 13 years old  :D

Once again a big thankyou to all on the forum and most of all to Andmcit

Cheers

Looking great Colin.
Where did you get the wheel arch damage repaired?
I need to get Cassy's done (and her estate rust removed in that area too!).

Wow, what a lovely looking Xantia 8) Its certainly looking very nice Colin, in fact i might even save some of those pictures

The interior really makes the car too, it looks in great condition. Im a big fan of VSX wheels and the colour is one of the best too. Thats two very nice dark blue Xantias on here 8) Xantias are such a nice shape and still looking great today, infact they are getting better looking, some modern cars are truely hideous.

Where is Andrew these days? ive not seen him around on the forums for months now.

That's some transformation Colin :D Well done, excellent work =D>

Three sir! There's my dark blue V6 but not as tidy as these two though

Funny how they look almost black in pictures... Must be the pearlescent paint that does that.

Mauritius Blue is one of my favourite colours after Dantes' Red.

Totally agreed, the Xantia is a good looking car and especially the Series 1, improving with age :D Was only thinking that today on a run to Somerset and back after spotting a few Xantias down that way. Several stunners in Dantes' Red...

Very sorry Jim! Id forgotten about your V6, you should have more pictures up, you know i like a good picture  im sure there are more than three too, but all are very nice indeed. I did get a quick glance at your V6 at Stratford Jim and it did look very nice.

You must be smitten Jim, two Xaitas, both your preferred colours and both great versions 8)

I go from liking S2s more to liking S1s and back again, at the moment I prefer S1s. Just been looking at some pictures of Andrews really early Xantias, a lovely maroon VSX with the early two spoke leather steering wheel and tartan like cloth trim, looks excellent. Old style grill with the chevrons on the bonnet, nice 8)

Thankyou all for the comments :D :D :D

as for the wheel arch repair Xac i did that myself in Admiral51's back yard work shop
It took a fair bit of patience to get the lines somewhere close and it did help having the TD sat just in front in the drive :) :) .If you look close you can see little errors/imperfections (Gareth, please dont look too close as your expert eye will see more than most   ...only joking thankyou for your support and advice :D :D ) on the wheel arch itself but although the paint job looks ok its a bit flat and needs some proper polishing,a result of using the aeresol cans instead of an air gun

Thanks Citroenmad your comments made me feel :D :D :D :D

Yes i must also admit to forgetting adout Jims V6 being the same colour

I agree Jim,sometimes in certain lights/angles it does make it look a black colour...but not when you are trying to repaint it then pearlescent paint is a right PITA unless you know what you are doing and thats definitely not my forte

Your V6 looks immaculate Jim,do i detect the hand of Gareth as the reason or have you been out with the polish and cloths again :) :)

Now as for Vinces VSX....................................

Cheers

Damned shame, you could have come with me, I traveled alone.
Was a great couple of days.

To be honest,I remember far more about that than to following weekend that cost me about 100x as much. (was still great though and no I was not inebriated).

Went to see her
<<<

She was lovely:)

Totally way off topic now but not wanting to post this on a free to view section

I need to find/aquire some new steering wheel radio controls as i may have been a little fierce in my removal of above

I know of a scrap Xantia i have access to but the steering lock is on and i can only move the steering wheel enough to gain access to one of the airbag securing bolts any thoughts on how to break the steering lock so i can gain access to the other bolt

Cheers

Colin
