Got it guys. Remove plug at side of unit as this tries to hold housing from being pulled out......oops :oops: Blunt screwdriver inserted into the 3 slot openings which are 90deg to fan drum. Lever each rubber bushing one a bit at a time towords fan drum and it is out no probs.

I will ask Jim to do transistors if he has any. Many thanks guys

Sorry I misread your earlier post when I replied at 00:55 this morning. I'd just returned from London after picking my daughter up fron a pop concert at Earls Court and I was a little tired. I just had a quick read to wind down before bed...
