xantia interior lights 1998 MK1

the interior lights are working on the drivers side but not the passenger side.im sure i read somewhere that the wiring is prone to breaks in the door pillar runs.the bulbs are good so i guess the fault is wiring related any pointers in where exactly to start looking greatly appreciated

The flexible wires that break go from the pillar into the door to operate the windows and locks.
The light switch is on the pillar, in a black bellow, about in front of the flexible door loom, a bit higher than the lower door hinge.
