It's not JUST me suffering poor running of the forum is it?

This is the place for posts that don't fit into any other category.

The pain and downright agitation I experience every time I go anywhere
near this forum is beyond belief. I may even want to try and sell a car to
someone through the for sale section but my time lag in answering just
about perfectly matches the speed it takes a page to damn well load on
this extremely irritating invention called French Car Forum.

If I see another "Authentication Required" pop up screen I really don't
think I can hold it together and be responsible for my actions. I'm
surprised the howls of anger, frustration and pain here in Swansea
can't be heard in Glasgow...

TO SAY I'M TOTALLY BROWNED OFF WITH THIS FORUM, AND MORE
PARTICULARLY IT'S WEB SERVER, WOULD BE AN UNDERSTATEMENT,
DESPITE MY PAST ENTHUSIASM AND ENJOYMENT OF IT...

It's not my computer. I can merrily post replies on the Cx Club, Xantia
and Club Xm but perish the thought of participating in discussions on
here or Bx forum. I've been almost driven to total despair and fear for
my blood pressure with trying to post here or on the Bx forum...

Im continuing to have trouble, I can wait near ten minutes for a page to load and still a blank screen, even refreshing doesnt solve it most times.

It is very difficult to view this site I must agree.

Well guys, why not put your money where mouths are and donate some money to keep the forum going? It's easy to moan, but hosting a forum on a decent server isn't free.

This forum is an excellent source of information and I know we'd all miss it if it disappeared for good.

How much money has the average forum member saved through the help he (or she) has got from other forum members? I know I've saved hundreds...

Would it break the bank if those who could afford it donated 5, 10 or even 20 quid to help with the running costs?

If the admin is reading this, post up your PayPal details and I'll start the ball rolling with the first donation. 8)

I really enjoy reading/posting on FCF along with the contacts I've made
through it and it's been a while now since I found it so the Dec downtime
and the challenges of using it now are particularly frustrating for me.

As I understand things, the forum is now on a 'more robust server' and
has still been wobbly since it went live again over Xmas. After a bit of
money has been chucked around choosing ANOTHER SERVER and it still
remains the same what then?

There are a whole variety of free alternatives available. That's where I am
more and more now as I can't endure the torment of trying to get online
here. If they were all flaky and miserable to use I'd suspect my computer,
but they're fine.

What compounds the problem for me are the 'purple patches' where it's all
sweetness and light and I get lulled into thinking it's Ok again. Right until I
try replying to a post or logging in... :(

I am also finding these fora frustratingly slow. Probably more frustrating than when they were offline.

Can the admins tell us what the monthly download of the site is?

I don't come on here very often now... mainly because since Xmas so many FCF members found other better run sites.. remember guys, it's the members of the Forum that provide all the free invaluable information that is shared so willingly, not the Forum itself!!! Search the Internet guys.. there are other sites

This site has vastly improved but news is slow to travel. I hope the ex-forum members will hear the good news and begin to return. Just like you won't see every Citroen owner driving the same model, neither will you ever see everyone using one site. But good on you, seems you're happy with what you found.
