Sounds just like me... I'm super critical of the ride quality... but then so I should be on a Citroen!

I've been meaning to ask you, how have you found the ride and handling of your V6 after the 2.1TD ? Apart from the droplink knocking, have you had any problems with "harsh ride" that you had at one stage on the 2.1TD ? Just curious...

Yay,

My droplinks arrived today. They'd been opened by customs for random spot checks so that would have added an extra day or so...

The good: They arrived  They look to be of quite good quality, better than the originals in some ways, especially the top joint.

The bad: GSF delivered them to the invoice address not the ship to address. There are no new nylock nuts supplied with them ???

Since you're supposed to replace the nuts whenever you change the rollbar links I would have assumed they would come with them ? Am I wrong ?

Looks like a trip to a local engineering supplier tommorow for 4 new nylock nuts.

Will report on the results after fitting them and testing for a few days...

Simon

 we should have warned you about that - for some reason DL's come without nuts - but GSF do list them separately. I expect you can get them locally - if not Nyloc, then just ordinary nuts with loctite should do it. Of course they are always required on DLs in the UK, since the old ones have invariably had to be cut off with the angle grinder 8)

It's no big deal getting nylock nuts, and they will be cheap as chips, but it was just a bit annoying to find they weren't supplied when they are so cheap and they're always needed...

No angle grinders needed down here - in fact I've already had the old droplinks off and refitted them before with no dramas while doing other work... I'd say an easy 30 minute job including jacking the car up..

Been away from the PC for a while Simon. I greased mine with CV joint grease, just because it was the cleanest grease I had! Mucky, fiddly job but worth it. I'll be interested to know how you get on - as I said my car was completely different after they were fitted, so smooth. I realised that smooth droplinks - like other components - make a huge contribution to ride comfort. I also realised that I hadn't had good droplinks fitted since I brought the car!
Pug Rifter long (20) - 41mpg - Gutsy for a 1.5!
Xantia 1.9 TD Temp.2 Break (97) - 208K@42mpg - Resting again.
Berlingo Multispace 1.6 16v (51) - 184K@36mpg - My shed! Still runs 15° retarded...
