diode

Post by LOAC »

I removed the 3 surface mount transistors from the module with the dead diode, but they all seemed ok with a multimeter.

I looked over the circuit board and it does seem as if the relay bypasses the transistors when activated. It may be that the click I hear when I turn on the ignition is just the motor moving a tiny fraction, it's hard to tell as you can't see what the relay is doing when it's in the motor housing.

Will have to try everything again tonight, this time with the engine running.

Tried the module again over the weekend with the engine running and this time it worked!!!

Changing the power transistors did the trick after all, I just didn't realise the engine had to be running for the fan to work.

Thanks everyone for your help and advice...

No worries LOAC :D

Gave me a heartstopping moment first time as well :P

Good news, I've just received a nice batch of MJ11015s after they were delayed in the postal strikes!
