Arrived home the other day to the tune of the screaming fans and discover water everywhere under the bonnet on my Xantia 2.0i 1994 model.
On closer inspection, I see it seems to be pouring out of a fitting that I suspect goes to the matrix up high on the firewall. AS everything was as hot as the hobs of hell (car, water, hose, me, temperature in general) I just parked it up under a tree and drove the BX, but as I've never done one of these before, can anyone tell me is it just an "O" ring fitting in there or is it a moulded fitting, can it be fixed (have heard this hose is around A$450 over here) and apart from removing the engine, how the **** do you get access to it?
I suspect it may have a wing nut type of thing holding it to the firewall and it seems that a couple of those big flat plastic trim nut/retainers may hold insulation that helps hide it.
Any clues most welcome.

There's a spring that you press to one side that pivots through a centre point
[about level with the bulkhead face] that then releases a mirroring clip locked
into the main bulkhead housing. It IS sealed with O rings and is a real bugger
to pop apart. I've had the rubber hosing give up where it meets onto the
plastic end collar that does this clipping onto the matrix inlet.
It doesn't feel particularly confidence inspiring when you plug the whole lot
back together again either...
In short a bit of a crap design to allow quick coupling in manufacture
- heaven only knows how many fail causing boiled diesel heads!
Actually, if you're familiar with a GS/GSA the clip reminds me a lot of the
little spring hook that used to hold the air flap cabling in place on the
plastic housing under the spare wheel! Least that used to do the job...
