It was an intermittant fault on the computer, they have cleared it and it aparently will not come back.
We shall see.

Problem came back
Took it to garage who have diagnosed that it needs a new Turbo.
Have swon them post about split diahram, but the mechanic syas that shows a different fault code, and happens on younger cars.
Hes dealt with alot of the 2.2 engines that need the new turbo. Its because the Eolys addative leaves a desposit that keeps building up.
Well gutted, can't really afford the £1063 for new turbo and fitting. Think this will have to be my last Citroen.

I posted earlier to say that I thought a brief overboost could be causing this alarm. This turbo could suffer from that if a build up is occuring and stopping it from changing profile smoothly.
The turbo is detailed here :-

Why not take the turbo off and try to clean it up. I'd be tempted to do that.
May even end up there myself.... who knows !!
cheers, Kev

They did say it was because the pressure was to high. Perhaps I can pursuade my brother to look at it next time I see him.KevMayer wrote:I posted earlier to say that I thought a brief overboost could be causing this alarm.

Lets just try and understand what's happening here.
I think 2.2HD1 has a controlled turbo - its got 2 stages or something and there is a control mechanism that controls the stages changeover (???) and the wastegate is electronically controlled as well.
The usual trouble with turbos apart from leakages is that they don't produce enough pressure. This could be due to dirt on either the exhaust or air sides clogging the vanes but its very hard to see how a deposit could IMPROVE the efficiency to result in too much boost.
So if the thing is boosting too much (which I can't see is really a problem as presumably the fuel supply or revs are governed as well - but may be) then its got to be down to the wastegate system. Is this available separately? Can it be fitted in the car? Are there independent experts who specialise in these things?
