If you've got the primer on, best to at least give it a coat of top while it's still all masked up.
Primer by nature is porous and if left just in primer and given the damp climate, you'll find surface rust will develop fairly quickly and begin to bleed through. This will lead to making a bigger job of it eventually.
If it were me, I'd be getting all the gear together that will be needed for the job (including the retarder thinners) and if possible, get a couple of mates on standby for the first reasonable day and hit it with a coat; even if it's only a couple of thin coats but enough to seal off the surface.
Comes the better weather, and you can then finish it off properly.
