In my humble experience there are only 2 x tools for removing the spheres.
One is the chain wrench as pictured, but if you are thinking about getting one, only get the Vice Grip make, all others will snap!!
The other is the Pleiades band wrench, had mine for years, especialy handy for the CX fronts, as you will not get a chain wrench around them because of restricted access.

I use this Sykes Pickavant band wrench:

It has the advantages that you can get it really tight with a spanner, it stays in place without being held, you can belt it with a hammer , and spare bands are available (I've only ever broken one though, and that was when I had to use the entire weight of the car to remove a rear sphere!)
