Track rod ends

Post by mcgregor »

My 2001 Xantia Hdi 110 needs new track rod ends. However my local factor says that there are two different types with a huge difference in price (like £34 and £12). Can anyone tell me how to spot the difference between them or even better which ones I need.
Cheers

Presumably the 90BHP uses the cheaper ones and the 110BHP uses the expensive ones (increase in strength for the increase in BHP)......however that is merely a guess and I have no expert advice

Again no expert on this, but on a Cx 2.0 the ball joint ends and the hub are parallel on the shaft of the joint's fastening BUT tapered on the 'beefy' heavier models...

Ask me how I found this one out...

According to pr.net there are two types, one for the 90 BHP HDi, and one for everything else. Oddly the HDi 110 type is cheaper (just) - but both are less than £34! Alternatively GSF appear to do them for £9.50....
