I think I have found the culprit

Post by triumphtoledo »

After swopping the throttle body and ECU over, the problem remains; if anything it is getting worse!

However, I disconnected a wiring plug and hey presto: it runs great! However I am not sure what the plug goes to. It is near the speedo sensor on the passenger side, just above the gearbox. It is a 4 wire plug with a red tab that needs pulling upwards before the plug can be disconnected.

Does anyone know what this is supose to do?

Many thanks yet again!

Me thinks it is the Lambda sonde. Try follow the cable run. It should end at the sonde somewhere on the exhaust manifold on a "spark-plug" looking device.

http://www.lambdasensor.com/ to learn more.

Shop around for your new lambda sonde - it really pays.
Our here it is possible to find a Lambda sond at some £30.
Note : The AX will run perfect on a standard 4-wire lambda sonde.
