If the car has air conditioning, some preventative jobs that will pay off later:

I should save your energy for when something does go wrong with it! If its done anything like 150k, you could change the head gasket.

It does have air con however it doesnt have the correct air con compressor on it, when i bought it it had a 406 HDI one on and ive looked into getting one but winter was setting in and i was looking at a few hundred pounds for one and wasnt sure how reliable the car was since i only bought in August/September so tried to keep spending down just incase and since i havent had aircon before i dont really miss it, however if i dont choose a company car this year then i will probably buy a newer Xantia with air con but possibly not a HDI one.

If your life has now become predictable and boring why not buy yourself a CX, an XM, or a GS or a 2CV or maybe push the boat out and buy a DS or SM...

OR IF YOU MUST DO SOMETHING WITH YOUR XANTIA, DRIVE IT!!

Hi there.. I think that its the (mostly) easy routine maintenance which is the secret to painless citroen ownership... eg lubing all the hinges, freeing off the retaining pin on the rear disc caliper and lubing the sliding pin on the front.. having a look at the throttle cable condition.. an LHM change is quick and easy and makes a world of difference. If you really want to tempt fate carry a spare clutch pedal clip in the glovebox. (Lets not even mention the head/block interface !!) also I followed the advice on here about greasing my front struts lightly and was pleasantly amazed at the difference in ride quality !!

Finally, as andmcit said, just enjoy !!
I won't do that again
