Xantia dashboard lights

Post by Nomad »

Hi

The bulb that tells me that my head lamps or on, on the dashboard does not seem to be working, the side light bulb is working fine.

So the question is what bulb does it take, and while i am at it i might aswel change all the bulbs for the dashboard (only the intrument panel) so how many is there so i can buy them all first.

I have to also change the bulb for the heater control slider panel is this the same bulb as the dashboard?

Also how easy of a job is it to replace these bulbs, any tips i should know about before starting.

Thanks in advance

Tony

Headlamps On Warning Bulb

Post by johnway »

Hello,
My Xantia has the same problem, but I have fix.........give the dash top a good thump with the edge of your fist above the light when your headlamps are on. You may find, as I have, that the dash light will come back on. This "cure" also works for other Xantia dash bulbs!! Good Luck.

If you replace the lamps, it's worth doing the lot.
You might consider using LED replacements, then it's done for life.

Also known as "emergency repair procedure No. 1" :D

If you go into your local motor factors, they will be able to show you a selection of dashboard lams, and should be able to tell you which one fits the Xantia.
This is not a signature.
