ZX TD - Front wheel bearings can't take the torque ???

Thanks all for your replies.

At present I'm running standard 'td Elation' struts, but as she has done 164k, I think they are past their sell by date allthough they seem ok.

I would prefer to replace the pair as the mileage difference may be seen in the handling, also I think it would be alot easier to change the struts complete.

As far as replacements go, as long they have vented disc's/hubs from a Elation, 16v or Volcane, I don't mind. Even knowing that the 16v and the Volcane maybe lower and stiffer.

Following on.

Is there any other Strut interchangeable with the ZX.

Such as a phase I 306td or 405td, I'm open for options.

306 may be the same but not the 405,becarefull if changing for a 306 one you could change your steering geometry then have another problem with tyre wear or ending up in a ditch

OK.
Today I fitted a replacement front suspension strut to the R/H from a scrappy. As far as I know its from an Elation, but the year unkown.

Checked colour coding marks on Coill springs, OK. Checked lengths etc, OK.

But when checking the top strut mount, mine had 3 bolt fixings, but the new one has 2 fixings and the drop link bracket had a small stop plate welded to the bracket to stop the ball of the drop link turning when fitting/removing. But mine had not, as the drop link thread has a female torx fitting to stop the ball from turning when fitting/removing.

So is this the correct leg or is a later/earlier version.

What do you think. ?????

There are at least 9 different front strut variants. May be even more when mixed with springs, hubs and brake parts as complete assy's.
This you see from the PR-net listings on the inner suspension shocker alone :

BTW : the 4digit+2letter part no's MAY be valid too as Peugeot parts. However I donno how to find peug parts lists on-line.
