pressure regulator unit oil seal

Post by casperdog2 »

anyone out there got any ideas on a problem of why the seal on the pressure regulator unit keeps blowing. its the pipe from the pump to the valve and its the small seal type. Ive had problems with this part of the car since I got it, getting a bit sick of it now as its a hell of a car but its getting past a joke, dont like unreliable cars, I got it because I had a zx before and you worried about that one NOT going wrong. the car is a 97 xantia td 1900.

These seals never breaks up ?
Common causes are cracked pipe ends or a loose fit pipe (the pipe retainers along the pipe routing has been left out or is not fitted with retaining bolts) - causing the pipe to crack from vibrations.
Sometimes a mistreated pipe gets oval under the seal.

Common fault on the 2.1 td XM pump to regulator feed pipe, usually due to failure of the accumulator sphere.
