I would still buy a link and leave it in the glovebox. It is one of those spares that are worth carrying as you could not bodge the car to get you on the road, if it were to fail. Every Xant should have one. Have you cleaned and greased the front height corrector?

Hi john, the link that parted company on my Activa had one on the end that did not come off. The replacement link had two, one at each end. The security clips were a pain to fit, with much swearing and skin involved, but ensure that the link cannot fail again. Similar control systems fitted to aircraft, etc. have security clips fitted as standard so why not your car.
