the awkward cover bolt you meen the center allan bolt all you do is put a trolly jack with a block of wood on top under the sump remove top part of top engine mount then jack it up as far as it will go with out damaging anything,then you can get strait at it regards malcolm

No, on the 106 shell the bolt is under the engine mounting cantilever bracket (M6 with a 10 AF Hex head). You could support the sump and remove the mounting, but a compact swivel head ratchet ring spanner does the job. There is an access plug which reveals nothing - this was used for the earlier 1.4 engine, but by the time the 1.5 engine was introduced, it was evidently not worth changing the shell.
I wonder how many garages put this bolt back?

still easyer to remove top part of mount and jack engine up regards malcolm
