Is Kemble Airfield at the Kemble in Gloucestershire by the way?

Yes, somewhere near Cirencester (not to mention Fairford for the plane buffs!) [:p]

Yes its that Kemble, near Cirencester. I'm not sure just how long this will take to organise if we get it off the ground, re the airfield cost but I am thinking August myself. So what would you all want to see there?? and what do you all want to do ??

August is cool as long as not bank holiday as mentioned. We want to see many French cars!
Not sure about the "wanting to do" bit. Us 2cv'ers are usually happy with a field and that's about it apart from cars and tents! Definitely need a separate "display" area so people can camp one night and then move their car to a "show off" area. I've never really tried putting on an event like this so I don't know really!
Oh, definitely need a "shame" area for any non-Frenchies though!

Thought I'd jump in here!
We arer looking at a whole range of events for the day, split into three main categories, static displays of french cars, Pugs, Cits, Renners, Simca, you name it. We also want to have some moving events and are looking at a 0-60 run, a track circuit and some auto tests (parking skills, maneuvering etc), and finally trade standes for auto jumblers, specialist dealers and main dealers, hopefully people can even drive new cars round the airfield!
There should also be music and food (french natch)
If you want to see it, then let us (me and bike boyz) know and we'll add it to the action plan!
Lets have a French Car show for adults!!

Which - the music or the food, or both?
Sadly, I don't think that many would appreciate Saint-Saens, Canteloube, or even proxy Frenchman Fred from Bradford. [B)]
Chasseur de lapin washed down with Corbieres would be nice, though. [:D]

What about a autojumble? For you to find, well, all those hard to find things. P.S would I be allowed to turn up in the Xantia, or would I be "escorted" to the door [:I] [:o)] - Alex

What was that? 0-60 sprint?! Perhaps I'll give that one a miss unless there's a 602cc or less category!

Why not contact the organisers of French car show. I'm sure they would love for you to bring along your old skool stuff and give you #your own area to diplay them. They would more than likely arrange for you to have your own session on the track. You'd be suprised how many of the peeps at FCS love the old skool frenchies.
PS, I know the main man behind it all so pretty confident you would be welcomed.

There's another good thing about this forum. Makes this event a lot easier to organise!!

We've been to the FCS a couple of times, 104ZS cleanly burned off a Saxo up the strip to the shame of the chavs. But thats a good key point, we're not aiming for the Bling factor!

We've had contacts from loads of club people already inlcuding Renault Alpine, 2CVGB, Simca, Megane Owners etc and all is looking good! We meet Kemble Airfield's people on Friday for the crunch, yes ... or no... at Kemble.

Don't forget to drop me a line if your in a club to be kept up to date with happenings. We certain plan to cater for non club members i.e. forum readers to come, and be a little more than the public.
