106 Erratic Idle and trouble starting

i suppose! good point, apparently the coil packs start to go after about 80k, so i took mine from an ax that had done 48k, if the leads and plugs tonight dont help i may look into the coil pack again! really dont want to give peugeot a load of money for something i can do at a fraction of the price!

Just changed the plugs and leads and im still have the intermittant trouble, it strarted fine a few times, but then i drove 3 miles left it for a few minutes, then tried starting again,it would not start, after a few goes it spluttered and eventually started! the idle is still riding high! can anyone help?!?

fuel filter has it been changed or pin holes in the pipes causing loss of fuel pressure/Idle air control valve/air leaks in intake/vacuum pipes split or off/map sensor and its vacuum pipe.

thanks for that, i will check those later, and change the fuel filter. where will i find the map sensor? and what does it look like?

Sounds like a crank sensor problem, Measure the resistance of the sensor and come back. Regards Peter. P.S. your registration is illegal and you are likely to get pulled over or spotted on the the Registration camera systems and the 'Three strike and your out' will apply and you loose your reg at your expense.

right, looked at things yesterday, looked at breather hose, was clogged with crap, so cleaned, cleaned all air housing filter things, cleaned throttle housing. Located map sensor cleaned. put all back together, still high revs, just got back from work, took map sensor off bracket, put back on upside down, started engine, idle and everything is fine? what does that mean! hav i got an auzzie map sensor?!?

all gone wrong again, tried putting fuel filter in line to the map sensor! problem is still as bad! dropped it off to peugeot this morning, so we will see what they say, and see what they decide to charge me! knowing peugeot i will have to sell my soul to pay them!

Herd back from Peugeot! apparently it was the temperature sensor! parts and labour £55.98, not bad at all, get it back later!

humm might be worth trying that on mine then, anyone know if GSF sell them, and how much they are? [:D]

the part from peugeot was £13, the rest was labour, 1/2 hour!
