Yes! They've been done like that for years. I take four cars each year for MOT and always watch from the inspection bay. Ever since I started there, the brakes have been tested on the rolling road. The tester controls the running of the rollers with a hand held remote control. I can't help but smile sometimes when he tries to test the Xantia handbrake with the rear wheels on the roller.
