ZX TD Alterantor Wires...

Post by AthlonZX »

Hi everyone
Quick question, was doing some checks on my ZX TD (need it to get me to a demonstration of my final year project tommorow)...and found this green wire hanging off the alternator (pictures below).

Is it just an earth cable? I've unfortunately got no way of knowing if the alternator is charging properly as the bulb on the dash went after I put everything back in when I did my heater matrix [B)]
Cheers

Does the alternator still have two wires attached?

Hi Oilyspanner
Nope, there's definately only one wire attached to the alternator [B)]...that one is black and considerably thicker than the one that seems to have broken away. I've barely driven the car in the last two, weeks which is why I propably havent noticed.

Yup put a spade connector on that wire and look on the alternator for somewhere to plug it, your charging problems will be over.

Sorted guys thanks.
Looks like I broke the cable when I put the new rad and heater matrix in my car. Dash bulb for the alternator light now works too. Gosh my head-lights are suddenly allot brighter [:D]
