Back to the topic, The local Rover dealer may no longer have any say in the matter.The administrators have today closed 3 Rover dealerships- Oxford, Northampton, and Muswell Hill. These are the immediate ones, and they are now looking at the rest of them. Any new Rover is going to be worth peanuts ( although BMW still own the brand, so the name could in theory be resurrected from Germany....there's irony for you.....)
It seems no Western manufacturers are immune now- trading in Fiat shares was suspended yesterday and to add a French car perspective, the Pug plant at Ruyton have gone from 3 shifts to 2 and the same government aid package that is going to Rover is also being used to help the 750 laid off Peugeot employees. It doesn't appear that the French are doing anything, however....
