dead 2.1td

Post by stevenlizuk »

Hi all,
Just when I thought "been running ok lately" the bugger upped and died on me. I went to start the car and nothing happened. No dash lights, no clicks from any solenoids and the immobiliser pad didn't react to the key turn. I am thinking that it's the main feed to the ignition circuit, but thats guesswork. All the other electrics in the car are working ok but nothing that requires the turning of the key. I have checked the switch and it seems ok, it also seems unlikely that all of the rockers would burn out at the same time.
Any ideas?
(97 2.1td, second ignition switch, heater circuit burned out on last)

Multimeter various points on the car with the ignition on, might help you narrow down the problem

I would check the wire bundle from the (previous replaced) ignition switch - where it plugs into the junction box or any connectors on the wire run.
