Bernie - has the road through Wellow, Canada and suchlike been re-opened? I've been putting off a trip to the other side of Salisbury until it was re-opened.

Yes it's now open David, can't really see what's been done apart from 2 sets of traffic light though.

After driving my Dad`s 406 at the w/end,i found the auto wipers to be "ok".I found that sometimes they did`nt want to wipe when you wanted them to.I supose water did`nt get on the sensor,at the top of windscreen with the rear view mirror.Apart from that,& when you get used to them, they were good.
As Oystercatcher said, the 406`s work the same way.Pos 1 on the stalk for auto.Pos 0 to switch them off.

I hate using wipers. In the past i've a treatment which beads the water away at speed. But the auto wipers in the xantia are good.[8D] Helps if the screen is kept clean.

Mother new Xant as auto wipers - I'm wait to see how long it takes her to break them! lol I also managed to fix the headlight washers the other day, simple fuse blown, but did you know they raise up when they squirt? I had no idea until I covered the engine with washer fluid (I thought the were adjusted to high when I cleaned them out, so the jet pointed to hight!) :p
