Can anyone out there tell how often is it recommended to change the oil in the post 97 V6 24V auto-adaptive gearbox.

These boxes have an oil wear meter which works by counting heat cycles. When it decides it has done enough counting it will enter a fault code and the sport/snow lights will flash. If you change the oil the ecu won't know and will keep counting. The counter can only be reset with the analyser wotsit at the dealer. This doesn't really matter if you want to change the oil, just something to be aware of, but make sure you use the right oil as the normal stuff will wreck it.
