1.9td cylinder head removal ??

My son is renewing his cylinder head gasket on his 306td. He has removed all the cyl. head bolts etc, also the top bolt on the tensioner, the three bolts holding the engine mount plate. But something is still holding it that end, the vacuum pump end of the head moves and you can see the front engine plate flexing.
Has the front engine mounting plate dowels locating it to the cylinder head ??, if not what could be holding it.
Any tips ??? [;)]

depending on the age of the vehicle,there will be a dowel locatedin the head/mounting,should come out quite easy.

Although the Haynes says to remove the front plate, does this really has to be done ?? as we have removed the bolts holding the head.
So from what you say, as the head is freed from the gasket, we could try prising the head sideways off the dowel?

the engine mounting can stay in place.DONT prise the head side ways,you might damage the valves!
the dowel will need to be drawn out,you will have to find a bolt with the correct thread size,should come out quite easy.

if you look where you removed the front mounting bolt,that goes in the head?
you should see it in there!

Thanks Tony, found dowel as you said.
Head gasket has gone big time, between 1&2 and 3&4 into the water gallery. Looks like he cooked it at some stage.
