alan- HDi injectors are totally different to normal diesel injectors (which can be serviced quite easily) no one seems to want to touch them to recon them.some of them are controled with peizo crystals (like whats in MAP & knock sensors) rather than springs & coils.when they say number 1 do they mean nearest the gearbox ?

I've just been informed that on the car in question, it appears number 1 was the culprit; anybody know any reason for that one to go?

Hmmmmm, dripping oil for 3, dripping water for 4..can you see where this is going?
Maybe the dripping snot from the nose of his 5 year old son peeping over the wings into the engine bay every 5 minutes when the bloody thing breaks down and Daddy's fixing it?

Right, here's the latest update.
The latest report from the Australian Distributors is that the reason it failed was due to contamination in the fuel system and most of the time spent was cleaning the fuel system out.
I'll put this even further into perspective; this is a 40K klms (25,000 miles) car two weeks out of warranty and owned by a guy who I don't think even cleans his own windscreen; everything and I mean everything is done by the dealer. Even when his air/con stopped cooling, he didn't take it to an air/con specialist as his normal servicing dealer didn't do air/cons, he took it to a Renault Dealer to do. If it's on a French car he doesn't even use a specialist, he uses a dealer, the same one he bought the car from.
Now initially he was told it was an electrical failure, so now we've heard it's caused by contaminated fuel, are we to take it from this that somehow the contaminated fuel got into the electrics? If this is the case, then why have not the other 3 gone pop too?
I wonder; do we need a mechanic here or a bloody witchdoctor???
