The TissierCX was originally built to run the EU's documents between Brussels, Strasbourg and Luxembourg overnight at high speed. A couple are said to have been fitted with supercharged SM motors so most of that space is for fuel! Must have been great fun though. Diesel ones come up quite often in France, asking about six thousand quid, though. Flat8 GSA 2660 club 6wheel estate anybody?

Ages ago I started a thread asking if there was room for a basic car, no frills but reasonable comfort, we had one it was the GS, I've loved my BXs and the Xantia is the best built Cit I've ever owned, but today I got a whiff of anti freeze from the passenger compartment which presumably means heater Matrix, which if it is anything like the CX (whose heater matrix was the first part onto the assembly line [:D] [:D] [:D] [:D] [:D]) will take me days to fix, the yearning for a GS has returned, if only they didn't rot like a DS [:D] [:D] [:D]....

The yearning is there for us all to this day, when I worked for a "certain" Citroen specialist in the late 80's/Early 90's I always drove various GSA estates/hatches, and we scrapped loads at the drop of a hat! I used to own an X reg GSA Special Estate that had 67k on it, that I purchased for £30 as it had an oil leak and blowing front pipes. I took that baby to 120k in one year after I fixed it, then scrapped it when I could not be botherd to weld it up agin. I regret that now.[|)]

So why dont Citroen produce a medium sized basic HP again? - Like a Xsara sized motor with HP.
Probably market forces, customers have been brainwashed into accepting very standard motors, anything with a "funny french suspension is bound to go wrong" and so I think would be a market loss.
Shame - just think how much fun the ZX would have been with an activa style set up.
