ABS lamp-ON

Post by mark_l »

Hi!
Last some days I get ABS lamp ON. The braking is almost the same, but in the beginning of driving I feel ABS works even after slight pedal pressing. Than it becames regular.
My question is: is there somesing to do before i go to garage?
Am i right thinking that ABS fault dont affect on the rest braking system?
Thanks ahead!
Mark

If the ABS lamp is on then the brakes should work as a non-ABS system so you shouldn't feel the ABS working at all.

I'm sure there's a load of threads on this, but I would think one of the commonest reasons for the light to be on is because the ECU has lost contact with one of the wheel sensors, check the connections on the front sensors which are somewhere around the suspension arm, I think the back ones are under the back carpet somewhere

Nothing stuck between the road wheel and the ABS sensor is there? I know that some sensors can be adjusted and or cleaned.
