Air Con Condenser

Post by acataldo »

My air con condenser has goes on my 406 HDI. Apparently a common issue, corruded behide the fan (road salt etc..). I am going to fit it myself. Question, How much oil should I used before applying the refrigerant and does anyone know where I can buy it? Also anyone who knows of where I could get cheap parts would also be handy.

Antonio,
I had mine regassed yesterday ( See B***** Air con again, thread) the guy had a dispenser in line with the refrigerant input so the oil and gas went in at the same time.
I think it was about 100cc . Two things one is you need to know which compressor you have as the oils are all different mine was PAG150 for a Harrison compressor, the Sanders ones were different oils as were the different Harrisons. What the differences are I don't know and the oil was clear and synthetic as far as I could tell. Your only chance for spares is either a breakers yard or a main dealer as far as I have been able to tell, be warned the bits are an absolute fortune
