Recharging spheres DIY

Post by Morten »

A few months ago I had a topic about recharging spheres and tools to use. I thought I give you a short review of how it worked out for me. I ordered the Sphero-meter from CPR (http://www.cpr.ch/produkte/citroen/index.htm). The Ordering process was via email and the equipment came after a week in the post. It contained the tools, arbeitsanleitung (yes it was in German and means manual... ) and a 3 min video in English. I had to get spare parts since one of the valves on the tool was leaking. No discussion, new parts sent immediately. The recharging job was very easy and I used about 60-75 minutes on 6 spheres. The result was as fitting new spheres. Need more info ? send me an email.

Phil,
the tools complete is about EUR 370. Each valve costs about EUR 10. Be aware that they are sold 50 in each bag. I had a discussion with them (CPR) and managed to get it down to 10 valves. Then you need a bottle of nitrogen. I bought mine instead of renting it (it's a 5 liter bottle) at EUR 325 inc gas. So the total for me is about EUR 900 (Norwegian VAT included). This is less than it will cost me at a Citroen garage here in Norway. And since the Euro has fallen ca 20 % compared to NOK (Norwegian Kroner) the math was easy. If you like some pictures of the tools, send me an email.
