Cam belt checking

I want to check the condition of my cam belt. I've got a 205 XS '88, anybody got any hints about checking and then replacement ? it's the TU3S engine.

If you are doubting the condition or have no idea when it was last changed, replace it. Cam belts are cheap compared to the cost of repairing the engine.<img src=icon_smile_dead.gif border=0 align=middle> Cracks can appear at the sides of the teeth but these can only be seen with the belt off. I've never done one on a TU engine but it should be easy to do. Better than a BX diesel! <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>
