That's my car ahahah that's what it is.
You've done well to discover it in the dusty shelves of the FCF archives. Hope you don't mind it being the subject of our little whatsthisthen game. There is a thriving off-topic section of the forum which covers all sorts of subjects have a paddle around and join in if you can. There is a thread called I spy Classic Cars/Bikes where you could add a bit more about your McCoy's first hand here viewtopic.php?p=454182#p454182

Excellent work Mick
https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/mcco ... st-2108583
The McCoy was originally produced by Arthur Birchall Ex-Chief mechanic for Team Lotus who's career stemmed from Formula 1. Styling of the McCoy was undertaken John Frayling (who had previously worked on the Clan) with chassis development by Brian Luff. The McCoy retained the monocoque structure of the Clan but discarded the Hillman Imp engine and the plywood bulkhead weakness. The engine was replaced by a front mounted Mini or Metro unit, carried on standard dry Mini sub-frames front and rear. The website states 100 McCoy's were made, a truer figure is 86. As for the front windscreens the Clan and McCoy share the same front screen all other glazing is flat safety glass.

You must know your Maserati's Mick :-D

Gorgeous colour and I think my favourite body style for a car is a coupe.

This exact car was up on the ramps on "classic car garage"

...and the "marginally interesting history" bit...

Citroën purchased Maserati in 1968 with the intention of harnessing Maserati's high-performance engine technology to produce a true Gran Tourer car, combining the sophisticated Citroën suspension with a Maserati V6. This they did with the Citroen SM. The first Maserati branded car produced under Citroen Ownership was the Maserati Indy.

Come on class of 24 have a go! Upped the contrast and colour. Looks like an obvious coachline under the doorhandle right along the length of the car.

I think we need a programme like the one on tv where they roll back the sea Neil to roll back the snow, I keep looking at it but I'm damned if I can tell what it is, certainly nothing my friend who lived at that house ever owned.
I keep thinking Datsun but...............

There was the similar sized Mk1 Honda Civic which nearly - but not quite - fits the outline.
Sadly no longer a C5 owner :(

I don't think the Maestro has enough of the features of the car in the photo. The only significant snow worth taking a picture of in that era was the famous "winter of discontent" Jan-March 1979.

As a gift to the FCF class of 2024 more likely than not, somewhere within the 3-door Hatches in the various galleries
on the Hatch Heaven website will include "Snowy". A degree of persistence from the Class of 2024 is of course required to come up with possibilities with evidence if it is to avoid the failure of previous attempts.

A cautionary word from our originator Gibbo though

Here's hatch heaven 355 3-door hatchbacks to peruse, but remember all the special editions of every model will not be shown.

Bonne chance!
