It is obvious that the vast majority of those searches are made by people trying to decipher error codes, I wonder if there is something that we can do, like a code index of FAQ to make life easier for them?

That would be a mammoth task and won't be 100% accurate, as the same fault codes can have slightly different descriptors, variables for the electrical output / measurements, symptoms and suspect components. These depend on the variation of the actual engine ECU fitted and there are at least 3 branches (variations) of these code descriptors that I'm aware of, that can have wide ranging differences.

Later models have loads of new constructor codes for new systems and would make this a never ending task. There are plenty of generic sites where you can search fault codes, but these vary widely in their descriptions, which isn't a lot of help, plus they tend to focus on 5 digit alpha codes not the 7 we now start to see. There are literally thousands of codes now, that change from ECU to ECU.
