DS3 Smeg touchscreen update

Hi folks,

I have tried the DS updater program and entered my VIN to be told to use the website. Using the website I was only given a map update. The DS app on iPhone offers no updates. Is there another way to get a update file for my DS3, is so how do I prevent the internet seeing my VIN?

What are you on about exactly Chris?

You have to update your system via a USB stick on which the update files are extracted to. The update is downloaded from the DS website for which you may need an account, but will need to specify VIN so that the update is checked for compatibility with your vehicle and for the licence file.

I know I’ve to use a usb drive, used the DS website but was only given the option to update my maps. No update for the unit/ touchscreen itself. When connecting the usb drive it did not automatically start, I had to go into the map settings and choose which map updates I wanted.

The reason is likely that they are only offering a map date as some vehicles didn't have CarPlay / Mirror Link / Android Auto enabled - it was a cost option at the time. Some of these updates on this unit need a calibration file applied and if you try to update it with a later firmware it can result in your vehicle options going missing - which means you end up back at the dealer.

Unlike the latest Connected NAV systems, the older telematics units don't always have the firmware supplied via update notifications or via the app. You only get the map update.

Hi all
Been trying to find somewhere, a dealer, that will update my touchscreen on my 2015 DS3 so I can use apllplay & mirrorlink - they are there but it says needs a dealer and I can't find one that will do it! Does anyone have any recommendations as I am really struggling!
