StokesGoldenClassics Show

Post by CitroJim »

This year I plan to attend as many local shows with Bluebell, along with as many Citroen Car Club rallies, as I can... Running and cycling commitments notwithstanding...

I've just booked my place at StokesGoldenClassics on the 14th May... This takes place in the picturesque village of Stoke Goldington between Newport Pagnell and Northampton...

It attracts a good selection of high quality cars and last years event was really good with around 200 - the capacity of the village playing fields - in attendance... My AX was the only Citroen!

It's a very friendly show and always throws up a few automotive surprises... Last year it was an immaculate and totally original NSU Ro80 that had been with the same owner since new... An engineer, he'd rebuilt the engine four times!

I've hinted Zel might like to attend with his R25...

Yes, you would have been very welcome Mike...

All over now... It was a cracker of a show and I was delighted to meet Miles (Orbit Motors) and his very tidy Pug 306 :-D

There were lots and lots of very tasty cars there and I took loads of photos... Far too many to post here so I've put them all in a shared Google album.

View it here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/mX7EjMUyyM1Lj3cdA

There were a lot of cars I could easily have fallen in love with and taken home but the one I really fell for was this cheeky little one....

Good to see you Jim!

It was a good show, a nice leg stretch for the 306. Large enough to have plenty of interest but small enough to not be overwhelming and crowded. Nice relaxed drive back in the glorious weather too.

This really stood out for me personally!

That Beemer was parked near Bluebell :D I had a long chat with its owner... Ever so friendly and not minding at all that a pile of Frenchness was parked nearby :)
