Hi , I've got a 2010 berlingo 1.6 xtr and was wanting to upgrade the small display screen above the radio . It is a red rd4 screen and was wanting a rd45, TYPE 4 or C (?) ,display screen as I am going to fit an android head unit. The makers say that the rd4 screen is not compatible with the unit but will work with rd45 .
Any foreseeable snags with fitting etc ?

Re: Berlingo display screen
The RD45 is the unit with bluetooth built in and requires an EMF-C display with a certain software Level. We know that V72.01 works from a previous post.
You should be aware that you may lose the ability to change certain vehicle functions / options though if doing this. This will depend to a greater or lesser degree on the type of unit you are going to replace it with though.

Re: Berlingo display screen
Thanks
Can you give me a link to the previous post referred to as the search function doesn't seem to work for me. ?
The unit I was/am going to install says that I will lose all functions on my present display . So I thought by changing it to a Type C, I should not lose them.

Re: Berlingo display screen
That is my understanding. The RD4 and associated MFD screen is not just an audio unit, they are linked to the vehicles systems overall, so will display faults, all change of time, date, temperature display, and as I said can also configure vehicle options like rear wipe in reverse gear, and other equipment / options fitted.
We don't support aftermarket options here, only original equipment, so we can't say for sure what impact aftermarket systems will have on your vehicle. That is certainly something you should understand and get confirmation of from your intended supplier.
Post here that confirmed the software level mentioned:
